FILE CHAPTER 7 BANKRUPTCY WITH A SMALL DOWN PAYMENT!!
SERVING PORTLAND OR – BEAVERTON – BEND – GRESHAM OREGON
You may qualify to file a chapter 7 bankruptcy today with a small down payment. In order to be eligible, you need to have:
- A regular income
- A checking account
- Be willing to pay the attorney fees and court fees over a ten month period
If you are being sued, garnished or under threat of repossession of your vehicle, you need to file ASAP. However, if you do not have the money, it can take many months to save up the funds you need to file your case. If you received a garnishment notice at work you should call us or come in today if possible (don’t wait until tomorrow). We can always file a case the same day you come in IF YOU BRING the information required. First, you must enroll in and complete a class conducted online or via phone.
How To File Chapter 7 With A Small Down Payment
When you call us, we can register you for the class and you can complete it before coming in. Or, you can do the class at my office or on your smartphone while we prepare your emergency filing. Your case will be filed as an emergency filing, with the minimum information. If you and I have time, we will try to complete all the other documents after the case is filed on the same day. We file your case online so we get an immediate case number which we forward to your bank or employer to stop any garnishments.
When To File For Bankruptcy
If you have been garnished more than $600 in the prior 90 days we can often get those funds back to you. However, it is still much better to file your case before being garnished because it can take 30 days or more to get garnishments refunded. I also charge an additional fee of one-third for any recovered garnished funds.
Rebuilding Credit After Bankruptcy
When you need to use the small down payment option, your payments to me over the next ten months are reported to the credit bureaus. This means if you pay me on time each month you will be able to get your credit score going up right away.
The payments will be set up to come out of your checking account on the days you determine are the best for you. If you can pay me and the court up front that is the best option, but in the real world many of us have no money saved for the rainy day which you are experiencing today.
HOMEOWNERS. When you own your home or other real estate your home is jeopardized by any lawsuit. Judgments become liens on any real estate you own. Often we can seek to void those liens on your house but we sometimes can’t.
DON’T DELAY ASSERTING YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS TO FILE BANKRUPTCY WITH A CHAPTER 7 LAWYER. YOU CAN LOSE SERIOUS LEGAL RIGHTS IF YOU DON’T ACT IMMEDIATELY. PLEASE DON’T JEOPARDIZE YOUR WAGES OR YOUR HOME.
